Blog Class_What did you think?

I think the presentation was very good, very complete and well designed for each member of the group. I mean, it was not like audience gets tired listening the same speaker; it was dynamic.
I liked the activity you selected because it means the true application we can give to blogs in the educational area. As educators we are always struggling with class prepration especially thinking about add something different; we are about to find alternatives to give our classes in a way our students are more interested and we now technology is a good option for that. So, when the activity invited us to think how to prepare that language arts class, we could see how interesting the use the blog could be instead of a simple papers handling, such as teacher giving the hand outs and students submitting essays.
We could see blog can help us to make a class more interesting, more interactive and definitely, it permits an open environment to each student can construct its learning process. I think the next thing is to try to be updated using this efficient tool.

  1. Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I thought I was very sure about how to use blogs for an assignment, but the class discussion gave me a different and I think more dynamic sense of how we (as teachers) can use blogs as a pre-writing assignment.

  2. Yes, I agree with your points. I think every teacher is eager to see their students become highly engaged and motivated in class. If technology is a tool to help accomplish this goal, educators should seriously consider incorporating it into their curriculum. In addition, I think technology holds certain promise to break down what Paul Freire called “banking education.” Through technology, dialog between students and students, and students and teachers will increase not only in classroom but also outside classroom. This way, students will not be a passive receptacle of knowledge but an abler who has sufficient knowledge to contribute to others.
